Brand Education Improves School Marketing
Imagine Schools wanted a more unified look across dozens of campuses in nine states. The challenge? The needed a style guide and a suite of easy-to-use marketing materials that could be understood and deployed by a non-designer.
Using the opportunity to give the brand a facelift, we left the logo untouched and updated the supporting design elements in the brand. Then we developed an easy to understand style guide with carefully selected colors and widely-available typography to drive brand consistency. Everything was created for educators with little or no design experience, including enrollment ad templates that could be easily customized using Microsoft Word. We knew these schools would need some education to make such a significant change, so after launch, we held a brand workshop for the principals—explaining the importance of building a single brand and showing off the tools to make it happen. Early signs show promise of moving towards a unified brand.
